Mayu started playing the violin at 6, and from the age of 9 she studied violin and viola with Jean MacRae. Mayu is currently studying with Steven Dann at McGill University in the Bachelor of Music Performance program. Mayu was a member of the Mount Royal Youth Orchestra from 2005 to 2016. She was a member of the McGill Symphony Orchestra and teaches at Encore! Sistema Quebec Day Camp.
